A lovely Friday night … most NUS students would be eagerly planning their weekend activities; some would have even started partying away! A group of NUS students however, met up in school for a bonding session; not an activity that the average NUS student would have on his or her MUST DO list for the weekend! However, ask any one of the Boys Town Tutoring Program Volunteers who attended the bonding session, and they would tell you that they had a great time; and they would not be exaggerating.

It was early Saturday morning on 12^th September. 11 facilitators were up early to prepare and ready themselves for a challenge – one that saw the most participants so far and one where they had standards to surpass, or at least, maintain. Their challenge was a team-building, team-bonding workshop for Eusoff Hall’s media wing, EusoffWorks.

The bonding session for KE 7 Hall culture committee was an unforgettable event – for all the right reasons of course! The newly formed committee came in without really knowing much about each other. Hence we got them to start off with traditional ice-breakers. The twin games of “Identity Crisis” and “Guess the Emotions” had the participants slowly warming up to each other. Before we knew it, they were really starting to open up. It was good to see the team spirit beginning to manifest itself in the group.

SLIC 2009 - 23^rd September to 24^th September 2009

School’s OUT, Recess week’s IN! NUS students may be in the mood for a short getaway, but that never stopped 77 student leaders from attending the Student Leaders Induction Camp (SLIC) during the recess week. SLIC is a two day one night activity organized by Office of Student Affairs (OSA) in collaboration with Asia Outdoor and Facilitators@NUS at Pulau Ubin Celestial Resort. Student leaders from the executive committees of various clubs and societies under NUSSU (NUS student union) and Faculties gathered to participate in this camp and oh boy, they were in for a big surprise!
