Registration of Level 5000 FASS Modules

Dear Undergraduates

Some of you have expressed interest in reading level-5000 modules to fulfil major requirements. You are allowed to read a maximum of 2 level-5000 modules, in lieu of your level-4000 module requirements. You will need to obtain the department’s approval and fulfil the module pre-requisites, if any.

Starting from AY2009-10, level-5000 FASS modules offered to undergraduates will be worth 5MC each and will have the suffix ‘R’ (for example: EC5555R).

As the registration for level-5000R modules will be done manually, you are advised to take the following steps:

(1) Check the timetable of the level-5000 modules that you intend to read. Look for the level-5000 modules without the ‘R’ suffix, for example: EC5322. EC5322R will share the same timetable as EC5322.

(2) Approach your major Department for approval.

(3) If your request to read a level-5000R module is approved, it will be pre-allocated to you at 1 bid point, from your programme account.
